The Saskatchewan Health Professionals stream is part of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) administered by the government of Saskatchewan. Physician Eligibility for the Saskatchewan Health Professionals Stream
Nursing Eligibility for the Saskatchewan Health Professionals Stream
The Nursing Substream is designed for licensed and registered nurses who are currently employed in the province of Saskatchewan and who have received a full-time job offer to continue working with a provincial health authority. To be eligible for the Saskatchewan Health Professionals stream under the nursing category, candidates must meet the following program requirements.
To be considered valid, a job offer must be accompanied by a Letter of Offer from the employer and a Job Approval Letter from the SINP. The employer must register online via the SINP Online Portal and submit the position for assessment by the SINP. If the position is approved, the employer will receive an official Job Approval Letter.
Candidates must possess a valid nursing license that is equivalent to a Canadian nursing degree and must demonstrate proper licensing from one of the following associations: Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN), Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS), or the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA).
Candidates must have at least six (6) months of full-time experience working for a provincial health authority in Saskatchewan, corresponding to a NOC code for licensed or registered nurses.
Other Health Professionals Eligibility for the Saskatchewan Health Professionals Stream
To be eligible for the Saskatchewan Health Professionals Stream as an other health professional, a candidate must:
A valid job offer must be supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer and a Job Approval Letter from SINP. The employer must register on the SINP Online Portal to obtain a Job Approval Letter. The position must be assessed by SINP and if approved, the employer will receive an official Job Approval Letter.
If the job offer is for a position at NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B, no language proficiency is required. However, if the offer is for a position at NOC Skill Level C, the candidate must have language test scores demonstrating proficiency at CLB Level 4 or higher.
Candidates must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education or job-specific training. If their profession requires licensing or certification, they must show proof of eligibility for such licensing or certification.
The candidate must have at least six months of full-time work experience with a provincial health authority in Saskatchewan in a healthcare occupation.
Saskatchewan Health Professionals Stream Process
The Saskatchewan Health Professionals stream is open to eligible candidates at all times, and they can apply through the SINP Online Portal. There is no application fee associated with this program. Upon approval of the application, Saskatchewan will notify the candidate of their selection for provincial nomination through email.
Upon receiving a provincial nomination, the candidate has a period of six months to submit their permanent residency application. The permanent residency application must be completed on paper and submitted by mail to the relevant application center. The processing time for paper-based permanent residency applications under the PNP program is typically within 18 months.
