The Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway is an integral component of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), which is a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) administrated by the Alberta province. This program provides an expedited processing option for eligible Express Entry candidates who have secured a job offer from a technology-related company or in an eligible tech position located in Alberta. To be considered for this program, candidates must meet the requirements of both the Alberta Express Entry stream and the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway.
Upon successful nomination through the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway, candidates will receive a work permit support letter, enabling them to apply for a temporary work permit in Canada. Moreover, they will be invited to submit an application for permanent residency, further advancing their journey towards becoming a permanent resident in Canada.
Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway Job Offer Requirements
The Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway has specific requirements regarding the nature of an eligible job offer. The offer must be for one of the 38 designated in-demand occupations or from an Albertan employer in an eligible technology industry. The offer must be a full-time, continuous employment for a minimum of 12 months and should include the terms and conditions of employment, signed by both the candidate and the employer.
In terms of compensation, the offered wage or salary must comply with provincial minimum wage standards and any additional requirements specified in a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), if applicable. If an LMIA is not required, the offered wage must meet or exceed the starting wage for the respective occupation across all industries in Alberta.
When submitting an Express Entry profile, candidates must ensure that the National Occupational Classification (NOC) code indicated in their profile is consistent with the NOC code of their Alberta job offer.

Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway Application Procedure
The Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway is closely aligned with the Alberta Express Entry stream, providing a streamlined process for foreign nationals seeking to immigrate to Alberta. To apply for this program, individuals must first verify their eligibility based on the industry or National Occupational Classification (NOC) code requirements for one of the 38 in-demand occupations.
Upon meeting the eligibility criteria, applicants may initiate the process by submitting their Express Entry profile, job offer, and employer details to the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) for assessment. Eligible candidates will then be invited to apply for nomination, with their Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) application processed at an expedited rate.
Upon successful nomination, candidates will be invited to accept the nomination on their Express Entry profile, which will result in a significant increase in their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score by 600 points. This will increase the likelihood of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through the Express Entry system.
