Saskatchewan Long-Haul Truck Driver Project

Saskatchewan Long-Haul Truck Driver Project is a stream of Saskatchewan Experience targeting foreign workers who have at least 6 months of experience working in Saskatchewan and who have an offer of employment to continue working in Saskatchewan. Both the work experience and the job offer must be as a long-haul truck driver (NOC 7511). As well, the applicant must hold a valid work permit at the time of application.

Eligibility Requirements for the Saskatchewan Long-Haul Truck Driver Project Stream

  • Connection to Province: Candidates must be currently employed in Saskatchewan with a valid temporary foreign work permit based on a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and have been working for the same employer for a minimum of six months prior to the application.
  • Job Offer: A full-time, permanent job offer from the employer in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) Code 7511 as a long-haul truck driver, supported by a Letter of Offer from the employer and a Job Approval Letter from SINP. The employer must register online through the SINP Online Portal and have the position assessed by SINP.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 or higher, demonstrated through valid language test scores.
  • Work Experience: At least six months of full-time work experience as a long-haul truck driver in Saskatchewan for the same employer as the valid job offer.
  • Driver’s License: Possession of a current Saskatchewan Class 1A driver’s license.

Application Procedure

  • Eligible candidates may submit their applications through the SINP Online Portal at any time.
  • The application requires extensive personal information and documentation demonstrating eligibility.
  • There is no application fee.
  • If the province approves the application, the candidate will receive notification of their provincial nomination via email.
  • After receiving a provincial nomination, the candidate has six months to submit their paper-based application for permanent residency to the appropriate application center by mail.
  • Paper-based PNP applications for permanent residency are typically processed within 18 months.
