Ontario International Students with a Job Offer -Program Requirements

1. Job Offer Requirements

In order to be eligible for the Ontario International Students stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), a foreign national must secure a valid job offer from an Ontario employer that meets the following criteria:

• Full-time position with a wage that meets or exceeds the low wage level for that occupation in Ontario.
• Occupation must be classified as NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B.

2. Educational Qualifications

The applicant must possess a Canadian educational credential that was obtained within the last two years and meets one of the following conditions:

• A degree or diploma program that required a minimum of two years of full-time study.
• A one-year degree or diploma program that required a previously completed degree as a prerequisite for admission.

Note: Some educational institutions may not be eligible for this stream. Candidates are advised to confirm the eligibility of their educational credentials with the OINP prior to submitting an application.

3. Regulatory Licensing

In the case where the position offered to the applicant requires a regulatory license, the applicant must hold a valid license, certificate, or authorization issued by an eligible regulatory body in Ontario.

4. Intention to Reside

Applicants must demonstrate their intention to reside in Ontario, which can be shown through:

• Ties to the province such as family, past education, etc.
• Investment in the province such as the purchase of the property.
• Efforts to participate in Ontario society such as volunteering and work experience.

The employer must offer a full-time, permanent position with a wage that aligns with industry standards.

Business Eligibility

The business must be established and operate in good standing in Ontario, with a history of sound workplace and business practices. Additionally, the business must meet the following minimum gross annual revenue and employee requirements:

• For businesses located within the Greater Toronto Area: a minimum of CAD 1 million in gross annual revenue, and a minimum of 5 full-time employees.

• For businesses located outside of the Greater Toronto Area: a minimum of CAD 500,000 in gross annual revenue, and a minimum of 3 full-time employees. Recruitment Efforts

The employer must demonstrate that they have made reasonable efforts to recruit a Canadian for the position before offering it to a foreign national, unless the foreign national already holds authorization to work in Ontario.
