Ontario Masters Graduate

The Ontario Masters Graduate Stream is a component of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), a Provincial Nominee Program operated by the province of Ontario. This stream is designed for individuals who have recently earned a master’s degree from an eligible Ontario institution and who have the intention of residing and working in the province. The goal of this program is to attract talented and skilled individuals to Ontario and provide them with a pathway to permanent residency in Canada. Successful candidates who are nominated through the Ontario Masters Graduate Stream will receive an invitation to submit an application for Canadian permanent residency.

Connection to Ontario:

    • Candidates must demonstrate residency in Ontario for at least 12 months out of the 24 months prior to the application.

 

Language Proficiency:

    • A minimum language proficiency score, in either English or French, consistent with the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 is required.

 

Level of Education:

    • Candidates must have completed a master’s degree from an eligible Ontario institution within the last two years.

 

Settlement Funds:

    • Candidates must meet the settlement funds requirement as determined by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) through their own finances or a valid job offer.

Intention to Reside:

    • Proof of intention to permanently reside in Ontario is required, which can be demonstrated through an Ontario job offer or family connections.

Ontario Masters Graduate Application Procedure

OINP Expression of Interest (EOI) System

    • Eligible applicants can submit an EOI through the OINP e-Filing Portal
    • Profiles are ranked based on a points system
    • The highest ranking candidates will be invited to apply for nomination

 

Invitation to Apply

    • Applicants have 14 calendar days to apply for nomination after receiving an invitation

 

Provincial Nomination

    • If the application is approved, Ontario will notify the applicant of their selection for provincial nomination through their ONe-Key account in the e-Filing Portal

 

Federal Application for Canadian Permanent Residence

    • After receiving a provincial nomination, applicants must submit a paper-based federal application for permanent residence
    • Applications must be submitted by mail to the appropriate application center
    • Processing time for paper-based PNP applications is approximately 18 months.
